Greetings.
I’m Brad. I’ve been a drummer and musician my entire adult life. At 54, I feel like I’m finally at my peak. I taught myself at 18, which meant I learned a lot of great things… and a lot of terrible habits. My ergonomics were wrecking my body, and all that tension kept me from playing the way I knew I could. I was a good drummer, but I was holding myself back from becoming better.
So I fixed it.
Fast forward to around 2020. I bought a set of electronic drums and got to work. I tore the whole kit apart and rebuilt it with proper ergonomics in mind. I studied posture, movement, grip — all the things I ignored while trying to be a rock star in my 20s. I watched lessons from my favorite drummers, read their books, immersed myself in the craft. Then I did the thing I rarely bothered to do in my earlier years: I actually practiced.
The results went beyond anything I expected. Now I play with confidence, power, precision, groove, and pocket. I can go for hours without discomfort. I’m exploring styles I used to avoid, creating fresh beats, and serving the song instead of wrestling with my own body. It feels incredible.
I’d love to make music with you — in a band, originals or covers, in the studio, supporting songwriters, or adding percussion to an acoustic act. I’m open to many genres and love pushing myself outside my comfort zone.(Except Prog Rock. I’m not playing in 13/8 for anyone.)
Hit me up, and let’s make some music. 🎶
